How did you get the M2D20 working in the DS1621xs+? As far as I know the DS1621xs+ does not officially support the E10M20-T1, M2D20 or M2D18. Or did you use my https://github.com/007revad/Synology_enable_M2_card script? I released the 2 clips on the heatsink on my M2D18 but the heatsink was still stuck on by the thermal pad. I didn't want to damage it so I didn't go any further. The PCIe slot in the DS621xs+ is an x8 slot so x16 cards like the Sonnet won't fit. I recently did some research on suitable PCIe M.2 cards (mostly to see if cheaper non-Synology cards could be made to work). |

I probably used your script, I can't even remember it, it simply works since then;-) |

Script works well on ds1621xs+ / M2D20 / 2x seagate firecuda / 7.2.1 upd4
Virtual machines on this storage run faster now on pcie3.
I was wondering if anyone ever removed the cooler on top of the chipset to see what chipset it is on the M2D20 card?
If we know the chipset maybe we could experiment with another card with ** 4x ** Nvme ssd with the same chipset,
But maybe this is way too much to hope for and getting too experimental...
a card like Sonnet M.2 4x4 Silent PCIe Card (FUS-SSD-4X4-E3S)
