tests/simple_test.py hanging on KeyboardInterrupt exception?

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but when I try to ctrl-c out of the simple_test script the terminal window will hang for a few seconds after KeyboardInterrupt is fired and then dump threading-related exceptions. This is what it looks like for me when I try to quit:

I put this question in discussion rather than issue since I'm not sure if anyone else is encountering this or if this something only I'm seeing that I need to troubleshoot on my own.

Will look into that, does definitely not look how it's supposed to be, thank you for reporting that one
