I am conducting research on energy efficiency on ARM processors, specifically on ARMv8 processors and I would like to ask if the powermeter command is compatible with ARMv8 processors.

I would like to see support on a55 and a73 processors of the ARMv8 family

Yes, there is available documentation.

I am not familiar with the existence of other power measuring tools.

Can you please provide links to the documentation.

I don't know of any general energy measurement facility on ARM chips. Some provide additional units like Marvell Thunder X2 through SMI. Some other provide performance monitoring events like Fujitsu's A64FX (EA_* events, see #603 as a recent update).
