It appears I have let RailDriver stagnate for quite some time.
I apologise for this and for not updating it more frequently.
Starting from 2023-10-01 0900 Hrs NZDT, I am dedicating the final three months of 2023 to working on RailDriver, and performing some much needed maintenance.
Over the course of these three months, I will re-factor a lot of the code, starting with fixing up the compilation warnings in the Expression2 editor. I will finalise OTA updates, where you will have the ability to update RailDriver in-game with a simple chat command.
Rather than doing ".raildriver update local" or ".raildriver update online" etc, I will refactor this to simply ".raildriver update" and RailDriver's updating system will handle everything automatically.
I now realise that I was fixating too much on the minutiae of what I wanted RailDriver to be, and lost sight of the bigger picture. That bigger picture is me providing you with a simple and easy-to-use locomotive control ecosystem.
The focus of RailDriver is simplicity, user friendliness (especially to newcomers to Garry's Mod Train Build), and the ability to get yourself up and running your first locomotive within seconds.
Now, it's time to re-visit RailDriver and bring everything up to date.
With this being said, I am discontinuing RailDriver LTS by archiving its respective development branch. I am aware this will impact your ability to run on older servers. These servers are using woefully outdated versions of Expression2 (some are as old as 10+ years out-of-date), and I believe that is one of the things that was holding me back, as I believe I was stretching myself too thin with maintaining two different types of RailDriver - One for all the latest and greatest stuff, and the other one for compatibility with older servers that are already rapidly dwindling.
As of 2023-12-31 1600 Hrs NZDT, the RailDriver-LTS branch will be locked. Thus, rendering it "read only". Then, on 2024-06-30 1600 Hrs NZST, the RailDriver-LTS branch will be deleted.
With RailDriver LTS discontinued, this allows me to focus more on the main development of RailDriver, among other projects that I have here on my GitHub page.
