AP FLC not working. #217
Comments
I've seen the same issue on the Longitude. |
Ok I will investigate |
Ok I don't understand why but it doesn't work with the C172, make strange thing with 747 ... Can you explain me how it should work and what it is used for ? |
FLC decides what Vertical Speed to use for Climbing and and Descending. I only use it on planes that have Auto Throttle and use VS for the ones that don't. On planes with Auto Throttle (AT), the AT will automatically be controlled to maintain the speed you are at when you engage it. On the Longitude which have very powerful engines compared to it weight, it could easily climb at over 4k to 5K FPM. If you change the speed while in FLC, it will automatically adjust the VS. On decent you can select a speed of say 250 know and the plane will descend at what ever VS it can to maintain that speed. On planes with out AT, when you press FLC it uses that speed as the reference speed to calculate the VS/pitch to use, but it's the pilot's responsibility to adjust the throttle maintain the pitch the the AP selected. I find it simpler to use VS on planes without AT and usually set the VS and they keep an eye on my speed to ensure that the plane can climb at the VS i selected or on descent not to overspeed and overstress the plane. I know a lot of pilots use FLC on planes without AT, like the C172, but I prefer VS for planes with no AT. Hopefully someone that uses FLC on planes without AT will also chime in and tell us why they prefer FLC on those planes. |
Okay. I will try. FLC basically works the same as airplanes with Auto Throttle. only you will have to operate the throttle yourself. as captainAS007 says the FLC is used less often in airplanes without auto throttle and VS is preferred. I don't know if the operation of FLC really matters. As long as the FLC button on the loupe deck addresses the correct data ref. The AP FLC, just like AP VS, should activate the correct button on the autopilot (g1000) |
the event on the Flightsim API is named "FLIGHT_LEVEL_CHANGE". On my self-build hardware this was running without problems. |
Dear Calibx,
As the titel says, the AP FLC button don't respond.
This is in the stock msfs planes like the c172
Al the other knobs workin corect
