Status/Mode line

I'm thinking about adding a status/mode line to the search view, so it's easy to see a few useful states at a glance.

I have some internal friction over adding this, because I don't want to add visual clutter, so to dig in a bit, here's what I can come up with...

• preferences
  • hide modeline in preferences
• states to display...
  • join is switched on, hover to see join string
  • wrap is switched on, hover to see wrapping string
  • number of items selected (what use is this?)
  • number of items in search (--"--)
  • number of items in history (--"--)

I'll leave this open for a while and see if anyone has interest in this feature, or suggestions to make it more useful
