yes, but takes up space

maybe they should make the case so the gpio is near the edge and a part of the case made so thin that you can break it of to make a port of sorts

near battery is big free space ;-)

Better to consider an antenna module in the handle by which you carry the device.

I would prefer an external antenna close to shore rather than some outputs gpio.
