Missing icons in Pixel theme #87
Comments
The icon missing is the playlist entries icon I think. |
The new battery status icons are also missing from all the themes except for Monochrome. |
I have added battery status icons to NeoActive, RetroActive and Systematic. |
This issue is still present in latest nightly with newest assets |
@blackman91 Over on #71, @kivutar indicated that "Flatui and Pixel are WIP." While those themes may have been initially created by @kivutar, I believe that contributing artists have tried to add to those themes along with Monochrome whenever they can. I know how annoying the black boxes can be and they tend to crop up as new features are added. We ask for your patience as we work to complete every theme in the set. |
I had this issues in the newest version of retroarch, v 1.7.3. I found that my ~.config/retroarch/assets folder was empty. I went to https://github.com/libretro/retroarch-assets, downloaded it, unzipped it, opened it, and placed the xmb folder into .config/retroarch/assets. Then the icons showed back up. |
These icons still missed:

Had the same issue with the Ozone menu, updating assets didn't help. ~/.config/retroarch/assets was empty, and retroarch.cfg was set to have assets loaded in /usr/share/retroarch/assets. Manually changed that to ~/.config/retroarch/assets (going through RetroArch it wasn't seeing the dot files/directories) and copied over the assets that were in /usr/share/retroarch/assets. Then I used the online updater to update assets and it dropped the assets.zip in ~/.config/retroarch/assets but didn't extract them (and why it didn't go to the downloads folder, I dunno yet), so I manually extracted it. Bit of a pain for something that's always worked pretty much right out of the box, but at least it's all working now. |
I've had this issue myself, No black screens outside of the rename function, but upon updating most of my icons were weird, showing misplaced icons in place of normal ones, neither updating assets nor re downloading via the buildbot helped, most of my pixel assets are just messed up. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/533359304405811210/554371325570056202/Screenshot_1692.png |
Still broken in Pop!_OS 20.10 (like Ubuntu 20.10). Packages installed:
/usr/share/retroarch does not exist and /usr/share/libretro/assets/xmb seems to be incomplete. Configuring the assets folder to ~/.config/retroarch/assets and copying the xmb folder from https://github.com/libretro/retroarch-assets fixes the black squares/missing icons, as suggested by #87 (comment) (thanks!). Edit: installing latest stable version as explained here was even worse, but there was a warning about the missing assets with instructions about how to install then withing the app using Online Updater. |
@blackman91 brought up in libretro/RetroArch#4371 that there are some icons missing in Pixel....
Not sure what core this icon is. @blackman91, do you know?
