Preferences not opening

I just downloaded textadept for the first time. I tried clicking on "Preferences" and nothing happens.
I'm using the 11.0 version

Edit > Preferences opens your *~/.textadept/init.lua*, which by default is empty. It may look like nothing has happened, but something has. Textadept does not have a GUI set of preferences.
