The monastery is the only entirely religious city in Thebes, a haven of peace cultivated and protected by monks. In the center of the monastery, legend has it that there is a branch of the Theban tree of life. It is said that in the past, the kingdom of Thebes was full of them but unfortunately following a war between two gods, the different branches were destroyed and this is the last existing branch. Many pilgrims benefit from the protective aura of the tree of life. It is said to give off a warmth that comforts everyone. The monastery derives its wealth from the pilgrimages of various travelers as well as from the sales it makes from their various apprenticeships. They are masters in all fields.
