Which class has which weapon & more

Concerning class weapons, considering there are 4 classes available.

We could go for different models :

1. 2 weapons specific per class, for a total of 8 types of weapons
2. 1 weapon specific per class and 1 weapon that is available for 2 classes (so 6 additional weapons), for a total of 10 types of weapons
3. 0 weapon specific and 1 weapon that is available for 2 classes (so 6 additional weapons), for a total of 6 types of weapons

Please add any other interesting model you can think of in the comments and i'll add them to the list.

Also, please keep in mind that if, eventually, we want to add classes in the future, the easiest option by far is 1.

Concerning the weapons themselves and which class they could go with

Here is a non-exhaustive list of all the types of weapons we could use (considering option 2.) :

As a reminder, the 4 classes currently available on AresRPG are : Barbarian, Paladin, Archer and Mage

1. 2 weapons specific per class, for a total of 8 types of weapons

In my opinion, this is the best choice, it allorws a lot more possibilities and more option for the player. He can test a lot of things and will have a greater sensation of varieties. With this system, we have the possibility to do spell for every weapon that is unique for each class. This case, Paladin will not have same spell as Barbarian, that's sound better than have some similar skills.

2. 1 weapon specific per class and 1 weapon that is available for 2 classes (so 6 additional weapons), for a total of 10 types of weapons

It means that 2 classes have similar skill when they have same weapon and this not give an original gameplay for each class. I would be more excited to test every class knowing that I have a totally different gameplay for each.

3. 0 weapon specific and 1 weapon that is available for 2 classes (so 6 additional weapons), for a total of 6 types of weapons

Worst choice in my opinion. No original gameplay, no unique skills, no fun to test different classes.

I don't feel like 1. would be the best option tho, I like 2. better. Also, are we sure about the spells being directly linked to the type of weapon ? @Sceat

i would have switched the hoe and the sword. Also maybe call it a Scythe instead of Hoe ? Sounds a bit less like a farm object

About item destruction (discussed in #522 ), rerolls :

Destroyed items (weapons/armors/accessories) could give crystals (1 type of crystal per floor) that could be then used to reroll the stats on any item from that floor. The crystals could have other applications as well.
Concerning crystals drop :

• as said earlier, 1 type of crystal per floor, which means 6 types of crystals in total (could be same texture, different coloration) ;
• every item (weapon/armor/accessory) has a fixated crystal drop : when creating a new item, a range is attached to it that will predetermine the random amount of crystals this item gives ;
• rerolling an item requires a specific amount (which we shall discuss) of crystals from the same floor. Which means an item dropped in Floor 2 can't be rerolled with crystals from Floor 1 or 3. Maybe we could make crystals tradable for other crystals (like 10 Floor 1 crystal = 1 Floor 2 crystal, or whatever)
