Cartreader wont turn on

Hello, yesterday I tried my second attempt at getting the cartreader to work. Last time the reading/writing didn't go properly, but now with a new mega 2560pro it doesn't turn on anymore. When I switch it on I see a brief red flash on the lcd component.

I did find that it could turn on in 5v mode if I bridge 2 pins on the mega(see picture)(it doesn't work for 3v mode)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
