Usage of pre-downloaded cst vs. imx-cst recipe

Hi,

I'm currently getting into secure boot / HAB using this repository. It's a great help, but I was struggling getting the pre-downloaded cst-3.1.0.tgz into our build infrastructure (it's solved now). While doing some research I found the imx-cst recipe, which is available since Yocto Honister.

Is there any reason for using the pre-downloaded cst over the version from the recipe? Or can I just switch to the recipe version in my layers?
