Bugs with assets relative URLs trying to be imported, converted, requested as JS modules or corrupted in any other way is preventing me to migrate to Vite, since assets belong to another repository.
Bug exists since beginning I think, and have not fixed, because it doesn't affect current users, only those who migrating. There's even PR exists #11854, but it was not accepted for year without any comment.
