<h1>Member Submission Request to W3C: SADI Semantic Service Design Patterns</h1>
<h2>Submitted Materials</h2>
<p>
We, W3C Members <em>UPM</em>, <em>Stanford</em>
and <em>??DTL??</em>, hereby submit to the Consortium the
following specification, comprising the following document(s) attached
hereto:
</p>
<ol>
<li><em><a href="https://rawgit.com/wilkinsonlab/SADI-Specification/master/SADI-W3C-Member-Submission.html">SADI Semantic Service Design Patterns Specification and Reference Implementation</a></em></li>
</ol>
<p>
which collectively are referred to as "the Submission". We request the
Submission be known as the <em>SADI Services</em> Submission.
</p>
<h2>Abstract</h2>
<p>
The Semantic Automated Discovery and Integration (SADI) design patterns
intend to guide the creation of service-oriented architectures (not necessarily Web-centric) that
natively consume and produce Linked Data, and are therefore more intereropable with
other Linked Data/Semantic Web resources. As it is only aimed at defining service <i>behavior</i>,
SADI is orthogonal to other Semantic Web Service technologies and standards such as
OWL-S or SAWSDL. We also provide a reference implementation showing how SADI has been applied to
the creation of Semantic Web Services. This implementation has undergone multiple successful scholarly peer-reviews,
and has been enacted by multiple institutions worldwide, including by individuals/organizations outside of the
group of submitting Members.
</p>
<h2>Intellectual Property Statements</h2>
<p><em>
The statements below concerning Copyrights, Trade and Service Marks,
and Patents, have been made by the following people, on behalf of
themselves and their affiliated organizations:

</ul>
<h3>Copyrights</h3>
<p>
Each organization, respectively, hereby grants to the W3C a

document license</a>.
</p>
<p>
Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a
W3C Activity, each organization grants a right
and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C
and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Each
organization further agrees that any derivative
works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by
the W3C.
</p>
<p>
Should the Submission not be used as a contribution towards a W3C
Activity, editing and version control, and extension/modification power over the Submission shall remain with the authors.
The submitting Members also notify that they will continue to enhance and modify the SADI proposal until a

according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in
<a href="http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Patent-Policy-20040205/#sec-Requirements">section

Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.
</p>
<h2>Suggested action</h2>
<p>
We suggest that the Consortium consider the Submission <b>as a starting point
for work in a new working group.</b><b><i>WE SHOULD THINK WHAT WE REALLY WANT....</i></b>
</p>
<h2>Resources</h2>
