A client-side mod for Quilt and Fabric that adds a freelook keybind, allowing you to observe your surroundings without turning your character.
This is NOT a freecam mod! Freecam lets you detach your camera from your player and move it around as though you were in spectator mode, whereas freelook only serves to decouple the direction you're looking from the direction you're aiming.
The mod is not in active development, but issues and PRs will be handled.
As of writing, I could find two other freelook mods for Fabric/Quilt on Modrinth. The following table compares the features of these mods with each other and this mod:
Freelook | Perspektive | Freelook For Clients | |
---|---|---|---|
Minecraft version support | 1.19.4 only | 1.17 onwards | 1.18.2 onwards (Excluding 1.19 & 1.19.1) |
Choose between toggle or hold controls | Via config | Via keybinds | Via keybinds |
Third person support | Via config, interacts unintuitively with vanilla controls | Over-the-shoulder only: No support for first-person or looking-at-camera | Via vanilla controls |

Action bar message to prevent confusion | No | No | Yes |
First-person arm/held item rotation to visualise character orientation | No | No | Yes |
