A repo collecting ad hoc writing and comments of Myndex, regarding typography, CSS, color vision, contrast, web design, readability, DataViz, accessibility, etc.
Which one of these five things does not belong?
sun, moon, flashlight, candle, campfire
Most of the comments and writing herein are from discussions related to the 2019 thru 2023 research cycle for Visual Contrast, APCA, and related work. This repo is a work in progress, and some of what is in here comprise early research notes and discussions. As such, the ultimate conclusion or specific opinion may have shifted since it was originally written, as new information came to light. These later positions may not always be folded into the pieces here (this is a work in progress).
There are also informative files here on GitHub as Gists, the working-draft visual guideline at the APC-Readability Criterion, articles at my TangledWeb blog, and the Myndex Color Resources Catalog. The files here in this repo are mainly Markdown, and will eventually be merged/organized into either a Wiki format or similar web-based work.
Please feel free to start a discussion in the discussions area if you have any questions or comments.
The files here are under review to ensure accuracy, so at this time I would much prefer no forking, but please feel free to link to any as references, I intend to keep the file names as they are: 4DigitYear - 1or2DigitMonth and DescriptiveName: 0000-0PascalCaseName.md
The .md
becomes .html
with Jeckle, though the extension can be omitted in links as GitHub or Jeckle will (should) serve either .md
or .html
appropriately based on context. Or they won't. YMMV.
