A modular ethoscope for customised behavioural experiments with tiny animals.

Features

Due to its modular design, AniScope is easy to modify:

  • Easy customization with the OpenSCAD Customizer
  • Create and use presets
  • Multiple arenas available
  • Goes hand-in-hand with BeeHive for electronics

Quick start

  1. Download OpenSCAD
  2. Download this repository
    • From Github: click Code->Download Zip
    • From command line: git clone https://github.com/roaldarbol/AniScope.git
  3. Open OpenSCAD
  4. Open hardware/scad/aniscope_assembly.scad
  5. Enable the Customizer
    • Window -> Customizer
  6. For the best experience, change Show descriptionto Description only.

Acknowledgements

The term ethoscope was coined by Quentin Geissman and Giorgio Gilestro (see their Ethoscope). The philosophy behind the modularity also takes great inspiration from the UC2 modular microscope and BeeHive for electronics.

Tips

For keeping track of magnet polarities, we recommend the Magic Magnet tool.
