Currently, TEAMMATES does not have a good way to disseminate information to users, such as announcements about new features, but more importantly, warnings about deprecated/removed features. The lack of such feature indicates lack of regard to users, and we do not want to be such a system.

A good way to disseminate such information is to display them as "message of the day" in appropriate pages, such as the home page, submission page, or results page.

Aspects to consider:

1. A way to show different MotD to different user types, or in different pages.
2. A way for users to mark a MotD as 'read' by a user so that the same MotD is not shown to the user multiple times.
3. A way for users to access past MotDs.
