Buoy works with specific website software called WordPress. To add a Buoy to your site, your site has to be using a recent version of the WordPress software. WordPress is free software and is built along the same principles of decentralization as Buoy.
If you already have a WordPress-powered website, follow these steps. To find Buoy by searching the WordPress Plugin Directory, search for "Buoy" as the plugin name.
If you do not already have a WordPress-powered website, then you will need to make one before you can administer your own Buoy. (If you just want to use Buoy but not manage a Buoy-enabled website yourself, read the Buoy User Guide instead.) You have a few different options to get a WordPress website:
