mu4e-snooze

Snooze feature for mu4e.

Other than me starting to use snoozing a lot, a motivation for working on this project was to figure out capabilities of GPT-4. For that, I tried co-programming the project with ChatGPT running on GPT-4. At some point I stopped. Log of my interaction is kept in devlog.md. A more detailed review is in my blog post here. An update from September 2024 using the o1 model is here.

Usage

After installation, you will be able to mark and snooze emails by using the z key. You can do bulk snoozing. At the time of mark execution, you will be asked the unsnooze time. You can provide exact datetime or relative. See documentation of org-read-date for details on acceptable format.

Snoozing works by moving the marked emails in mu4e-snooze-label folder and add an X-header to keep the unsnooze time. Since tools like offlineimap won’t sync the added X-header, you will face minor annoyance in using mu4e-snooze across multiple machines.

A timer starts with a default interval of 5 mins (change mu4e-snooze-unsnoze-timer variable for this) to check whether any email should be unsnoozed to relevant INBOX.
