Version 3.0.0 is one of the most major changes and updates to imagemounter. This new release includes several backwards-incompatible changes, mostly because features were removed from the public API or have been renamed to obtain a more consistent API.

It was released after a long time of development, and does not even contain all features that were originally planned to go into this release, but it contains some important bugfixes that warranted a release.

The release highlights are:

  • Huge cleanup of the code, with several methods and arguments renamed for a more consistent API.
  • A new experimental interactive CLI console. This one is not done yet, but it has some basic functionality. In the future, it will probably become the primary means to access imagemounter.
  • Support for several new file system types, including Bitlocker.
  • Support for volume systems in file systems, making it possible to mount some very complicated LVMs, but also Linux RAID volumes and other complicated volumes.
